About the Speaker
Dr. Hilal Ahmed works on political Islam, Indian democracy, and the politics of symbols in South Asia. His books include Siyasi Muslim: A Story of Political Islam in India, Democratic Accommodations: Minorities in Contemporary India (co-authored with deSouza & Alam), and Muslim Political Discourse in Postcolonial India: Monuments, Memory, Contestation.
